A long-time advocate for dementia and champion of Alzheimer Calgary, we are grateful to welcome Ron Freckleton back as our event ambassador. Being a caregiver for someone with dementia is one of the most challenging jobs a person can face. When Ron’s wife was diagnosed with dementia, he rose to the occasion and became her primary caregiver. In addition to being an Alzheimer Walk & Run ambassador, Ron hosts an Adopt a Dahlia fundraiser and a Walker’s Walk event at his retirement residence in support of Alzheimer Calgary. An exceptional member of the community and incredible local advocate for the cause, Ron embodies the dedication and passion we all strive for. Look out for Ron on race day as he helps welcome participants to the event! |

Peter has one of the most recognizable voices in hockey and every Calgarian is sure to know his signature "Yeah Baby!" tagline from Calgary Flames games. Like many people in our community, Peter and his family have been impacted by dementia. You can read more about Peter and his mother’s story here. Peter has been a friend, volunteer, and supporter of Alzheimer Calgary for many years. Every year, we are honoured to have him as our event ambassador. For Peter, the event is a great way to feel empowered and do something important for the cause in our local community.
