Alzheimer’s and dementia have touched my family more than once. I’ve watched my grandmother, my grandfather, and my grandmother-in-law live with this disease, and I’ve seen firsthand the impact it has not only on the person diagnosed, but on everyone who loves them.
That’s why I’m running this 5K.
I’m running in honour of them, and for every family who has had to navigate the heartbreak, uncertainty, and challenges that come with dementia. I’m also running to support Alzheimer Calgary and the important work they do to make sure families in our community have access to support, education, resources, and—most importantly—the reminder that they don’t have to go through it alone.
Every donation, share, and word of encouragement means so much to me. Whether you’re supporting my run in memory of someone you love, for someone currently living with dementia, or simply because you believe in the cause, thank you.
I’ll be carrying three very special people with me for all 5K.
