Thank you for supporting me at the Alzheimer Walk & Run!
Many of us have had a personal experience with dementia, for me it was watching the journey of my grandma Margot who lived and ultimately passed from dementia with Lewy Bodies.
Through my work at Alzheimer Calgary, I’ve had many moments where I’ve thought- “I wish I knew then, what I know now.” I know I’m not alone in this, as it’s a common statement I’ve heard from care partners engaging in our programming. There is something so powerful about being in a space with others who just “get it”, that allows us to move through the shame and guilt, so we can focus on the beautiful memories of those we have loved and lost to dementia.
Your donations through this walk/run ensures that our small, but passionate team can continue to reduce stigma, share information and support, with the mission that people living with dementia and those who love them can continue to live well, for as long as possible!
